NAMEPLATE "COUNTY OF CLEVELAND". This 'reflective' style nameplate was carried by the BR BoBo 2250 H.P diesel electric HST power car Class 254 43104 in Set No. 254025, built at Crewe in September 1978 under Lot 30895. About 1984 it was reclassified as loco stock Class 43, and named on 29th April 1985 at Middlesborough station by Councillor Ivy Cole, Chairman of Cleveland County Council. The plates were removed in February 1990 and changed to this reflective pattern in December 1992. The Power Car was out of use from 1998 until 2001 when it was refurbished and renamed "City of Edinburgh" in April 2001 at Laira. Still in service with Virgin Trains. The nameplate is 39 1/2" long and presented on a polished wood plaque. It is accompanied by its SWALLOW, also presented on a polished wooden board, and a large framed colour photograph of "County of Cleveland" powering its HST set. The proceeds from this sale will be donated to The Railway Children charity.
