This is a very rare mystery torsion clock by Guilmet which has its crank and stirrup escapement which is used in most of Guilmet's mystery clocks. A similar clock that we call a mystery clock is Guilmet's torsion pendulum clock page 136 of Derek Robert's Mystery Novelty and Fantasy book. This particular clock is most certainly a mystery clock as when you look at the bottom of the pendulum there does not appear to be any connection or movement above the rotating pendulum as in most of Guilmet's swingers, it is impercetible where the energy is coming from. This is an identical action as the 4 glass torsion clock. Most torsion clocks have an obvious visible drive to rotate the pendulum. A similar clock is in the British Museum part of the Ilbert collection.
