Attis, an uncommon deity as portrayed on ancient coins, was from the province of Phrygia and was associated with Cybele, Great Mother of the Gods. It is still very apparent that these Cyzicene staters were very valuable commodities when held in the hand, and their diversity of types and charismatic nature set them apart from other ancient coins .
