This is good example of mid-century modernist Italian glass. The "tutti frutti" design is attributed to Dino Martens of A.V.E.M. in the 1940s. This piece is attributed to Vittorio Ferro and was probably made at Vetreria Fratelli Toso during the 1950s. Blown dark blue gass was layered with silver adverturine foil. It was then layered with multi-colored pieces of cane and, ultimately, cased in a layer of clear glass.
