1999 Lincoln Memorial Cent--Multi-Struck Bonded Pair--MS65 Red and Brown NGC. A remarkable error that combines two planchets and multiple strikes. A cent clung to the obverse die after its initial, normal strike. It struck against a series of planchets, distorting the Memorial reverse, and partly wrapping the obverse around the obverse die. Eventually, the die cap dislodged, but failed to eject, and was struck again, 85% off center toward 7 o'clock, at 11 o'clock relative to the die cap. This strike is uniface obverse, with a newly fed planchet blocking the reverse die. The die cap again failed to eject, and was struck yet again, this time 60% off center toward 7 o'clock, at 4:30 relative to the die cap. This strike fused the die cap with a newly fed planchet.

Coin Engraver: Victor D.
