CIS-Nabha, Hira Singh (1871-1911 AD), Nabha (off flan) Mint, Silver Rupee (Mule), “Gobind Shahi” Couplet, Frozen year (19)28/1913, Obv: Persian legend "deg tegh fath Nusrat be darang, yaft az Nanak Guru Gobind Singh" with date 1913, Rev: a symbol of “swad” within Persian letter 'seen' of julus, Katar (dagger), star around & (1)928 date at the top, "zarb Nabha" off flan at the bottom, 10.80g, 18.60mm, (Unlisted in KM / Similar to Saran & Dalwinder # NB36a), no test mark, about very fine, Rare.
Note: As seen here, the Katar symbol with the date VS 1928 (1871 AD) is almost always visible on coins. A variety of dates from Hira Singh's rule are depicted on the obverse. It is possible that VS 1928 represents the year when Hira Singh began to rule the state of Nabha. There are some coins with two different dates, but VS 1928 is always present on all of them. Due to the rarity of coins with dates on both sides, further research in this area is likely to be necessary.
