Shah Jahan, Silver 1/8 Rupee Nisar, 1.15g, Ahmedabad mint, RY 32, Obv: Persian legend “Nisar Shahjahan”, Rev: Mint name and RY. Very fine+, extremely rare.
Struck towards the end of Shahjahan’s reign, this Nisar was struck during the governorship of Murad Bakhsh who was soon to declare his ambitions to succeed his ailing father. His bid ultimately ended in failure when he was imprisoned by his brother Aurangzeb.
