Jahangir (1605-1627AD), copper ½ dam, 'Rawan' type, Narnol mint, 101X/RY4, 10.29g. Obv: Farsi legend 'Rawan Shud’ below RY. Rev: Mint-name and AH year.

Very fine+, Very rare.

Judging by the occurrence of the legend it seems plausible that 'Rawan' was a name given specifically to the ½ dam denomination by Jahangir. So far it was known on coins of Ajmer and Qandahar mints. This is a rare instance where it is evident on a coin of Narnol mint.
