Alamgir II (1754-1759 AD), silver 1/8 rupee, in the name of Alamgir II, mint off flan but attributed to Murshidabad mint, ND/RY 6, sun burst symbol on obverse and five petal flower symbol on reverse, 1.38g.

Good very fine, Rare.

The East India Company Mint was opened at Calcutta in year 4 of Alamgir II and struck coins with name of Kolkata together with same sunburst and text arrangement as the Mughal issue struck by Authority of Nawab of Bengal at the Murshidabad mint.
