Note: This type was introduced by Akbar soon after AH 990 to announce the Islamic millennium, where he would be the supreme leader or Khalifahs asit is called in Islam. It eventually helped shroffs or traders counter the discounting of older coins that relied on the date mentioned on the coin to apply it.
