Mueller, Karl von. THE MASTER HUNTER MANUAL. A METAL DETECTOR BOOK. Ram Publishing Company. 1973. 12mo. vi, 88, (2) pages. Dallas. revised edition, first printing. original white printed card covers. illustrated. Fine. The Old Man was hired by Charles Garrett to write a user manual for the Master Hunter metal detector. 'This book, from the beginning, was Karl's idea,' wrote Charles Garrett in the Introduction. 'Karl is to be commended for a fine job, especially so because of his willingness to reveal this arsenal of his own private, tried and proved detector modus operandi.' That is why this is such a useful Manual. KvonM covered 'Treasure Hunting with the Master Hunter' (of course), then 'Coinshooting' (a term Karl coined), 'Prospecting,' 'Public Utilities,' 'Police Use,' and more. Metal detector technology has advanced since the 1970's. the timeless wisdom presented in a few concise chapters here hasn?t. You've probably seen Garrett metal detectors in use by TSA at airports around the country. Very scarce.

Miller, Charles Dean [a.k.a. Karl von Mueller, KvonM, Half of Deek Gladson, 'The Dean of American Treasure Hunters']. Karl did more than any other person to popularize the sport of treasure hunting. He was a very successful treasure hunter (and one cannot truthfully state that about many treasure writers) and he was most generous with his time and hard-won knowledge. He wrote several books that are essential reading for the treasure hunter who wants to be a treasure finder. He often wrote that many useful books for the 'th'er' don?t have treasure in the title, however, many of his did, and they have been more than useful. Karl's trademark expression was 'Exanimo!' It is loosely translated as 'You'd better believe it!' He was a rock of a man, and it was all pure ore. Lot weight: 0 lbs 5oz. Subject(s): Treasure Hunting.
