"Columbus District, Esmeralda Co., Nev." (printed under title). # 4482 for 75 shares to Mrs. Abby Brown on October 29, 1889 in San Francisco. Incorporated Christmas Eve December 24, 1875. Signed by president W. E. Norwood and secretary R. W. Heath. Ornate border and fancy black font. Printed by GH Baker Lith., SF (Seldon seen printer). Fancy scroll work at top. Pinholes, folds. The Mount Diablo paid at least 17 dividends from 1875 to 1891. Originally used the Sweetapple & Hazeltine mill in Candelaria. Built their own mill at Sodaville in 1887. In an 1892 report by the company secretary, the company had 4,170 ft. of drift, crosscuts, and winzes. Total bullion shipped in 1891 was $373,000. The mill crushed 9,695 tons of ore from the Mt. Diablo claim. "The general appearance of the mine is less favorable" but "there is still a good deal of ore in sight."
