Mr. Robinson Crusoe (United Artists, 1932). Six S
Mr. Robinson Crusoe (United Artists, 1932). Six Sheet (81" X 81"). The islands of Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa and other South Sea islands serve as the lavish backdrop for the wild island adventure where many of the wider exterior shots were filmed. Douglas Fairbanks stars as a young playboy who takes it on a bet that he can spend a year on a deserted island and not starve or be killed. The scenes where the hero builds his own 18-hole golf course, has the monkey trained to bring him drinks at "the 19th hole," makes his own radio out of slightly more than a couple of coconuts, and much more in the way of Rube Goldberg devices, are hilarious. This stone litho six sheet is the first one, we know of, to ever show up and it is a beauty! The two larger panels on this unrestored poster are in excellent shape with just normal slight fold separation and slight border wear. The two smaller panels show a bit more wear with one having chipping in the border and the one with Fairbanks' name having some chipping in the image. This poster have to be seen in person as it is stunning. Fine/Very Fine.
