Motorola PRC-112 Survival Radio, like those issued by NASA as part of the rescue/survival gear given to astronauts. The radio measures 3.25˝ x 6.5˝ x 1.5˝ and has a Motorola label reading: "Radio Set, AN/PRC-112, Part No. 01-P21261J001A, Ser. No. XX1239." A pouch attached to the strap contains an earphone and spare antenna, and a new battery (sealed in its original plastic) is included. For Space Shuttle astronauts, the survival radio is stored in the right leg pocket of the Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES). The PRC-112 boasts transmit/receive capability on civilian and military frequencies, and continuous beacon capability. Note: the device should not be activated, as sending out a beacon should only be done in true emergency situations; this radio is offered as a collectible only, as its operation has not been tested or verified, so it should not be used as a survival or emergency device.
