Russian-American artist. ALS, on the correspondence side of a 6 x 4.25 postcard bearing an image of Rembrandt, no date, but postmarked August 19, 1963. Letter to a friend in New York, written while travelling through Europe. In part: “We have seen a great deal (paintings)…The great Rembrandt's, Rubin’s, Velasquez’s, & Breughels…are breathtaking. They make one feel humble—and yet they inspire. But wherever we went it was Rembrandt who stood out like a shining light. He is so profound, so deep, so tender and so Shakespearean—and above all—so of today.” In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
