Created after the original 1906 Moscow Kremlin egg by Carl Faberge for the Russian Royal family, commemorating the return of the royal couple Nicholas II & Alexandra Fyodorovna to Moscow in 1903. Hand-painted enamel & gilt over pewter, the egg lifts off its architectural stand, opens at center to reveal an enameled interior for storing trinkets or jewels. The stand is a music box that plays "The Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky. 6 1/2" H with stand. 3" W. Comes with gift box.Â
