Composer, conductor, arranger, and pianist (1913-1996) who led all of the major orchestras in the United States as well as Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Mexico. ALS, one page, 8.25 x 11, February 22, 1982. Gould responds to an admirer’s request. In part: “Thank you for your kind and touching letter—and flattering comments…you react to my music and obviously know so much about it…As per your request—here are a few autographs.” Gould goes on to pen three large musical quotes. One from ‘Pavane,’ one from ‘Guaracha’ from Latin American Symphonette, and one from ‘West Point’ Symphony for Band. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope; and a glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in blue ink. In fine condition, with scattered surface marks and impressions to photo.
