A limited edition artist proof signed and numbered print titled "Oh I Wish He Was Ours" by Mort Kunstler, ca. 1991. The print depicts Lee's march through Maryland on June 26, 1863 during the ill-fated invasion of the North that would culminate in the Battle of Gettysburg. As Lee travels with his troops astride Traveller, a local woman loyal to the North is heard to say in admiration, "Oh, I wish he was ours!" This is the scene that Mort Kunstler has dramatically captured. The print weas published by American Print Gallery of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It is artist signed and numbered 46 of 50 artist proofs and includes a certificate of authenticity. It has been museum quality framed and matted with an attached gold title plate.
