Morse carbine, made by the State Military Works, Greenville, South Carolina reportedly produced on machinery captured by the Confederates from the Harpers Ferry Armory, .50 cal., 20” round barrel, wood stocks, #637. This exceedingly rare gun is in overall good condition showing a dark patina on the barrel, surprisingly good bore, good action, dark patina on the bronze/brass frame; wood stocks are worn but complete and show only a few mars and a couple of old losses to the top rail of the right forend; iron with knurled brass button tip and one brass ferrule. Likely one of the only chances to obtain this rare Civil War era weapon as few seem to ever make it to auction or public sale. Est.: $7,500-$15,000.
