c1852 Very large group of receipts, letters, church documents, citizenship letter, and others, all from the then Utah Territory from the Church of the Latter Day Saints. There are 3 very important pieces here: first is a letter from the Panguitch C. M.& M. General Merchandise, dated June 17, 1888, to the parents of M. Steele, secretary. 1 letter is from the President`s Office (SLC) dated 1888, from J. Irvine, to R.Z. Johnson in Boise City regarding an urgent legal matter. Finally, there is a note from a Hans Rosenquist, Cottonwood Sinclair, asking Bishop Yates to release him from the church. There are numerous receipts from the Zion Co-Operative Merchantile Institution, aka the Z.C.M.I. There are 2 letters from the Z.C.M.I. On letterhead (beautiful vignettes) regarding purchases and the continuing business. There is a "Seventies` Certificate" for a man being ordained as one of the Seventy Elders of the church. Finally, there is an official "Certificate of Citizenship" for a Peter Hansen, late of Denmark, to become a United States citizen, dated February 1, 1876. The majority of these documents are in very good to excellent condition. Some exhibit age wear and fold creases, but overall quality is excellent. - HKA#65295
