More Fun Comics #80 Mile High pedigree (DC, 1942) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. The story behind the name of this title, and its notorious scarcity come from Harry Donenfield, who bought DC in 1937 when it had a mere three titles on its roster. It soon became clear that More Fun was a poor selling title, but because Donenfield was a sentimental guy (it was DC's first published comic), he kept it around until he sold the company in the late 1940s. It was cancelled soon after, but not before running 127 issues and producing what would become some of the most rare, sought-after issues in the hobby. The Mile High copies of More Fun usually represent the best existing copies, and always bring a premium when sold. Offered here is one of the last large logo issues, and it is stunning. CGC mentions very minor glue at the top spine, used to secure a small bindery tear, which is commonly found on Mile Highs. A true blue chip investment for any collector. Overstreet 2002 NM 9.4 value = $2,200. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium.
