The hub-bub of this issue is the origin and first appearance (other than in a cameo in the preceding issue) of the Spectre by Bernard Baily. Gerber estimates this to be a "rare" issue, with just 11-20 copies thought to be in existence. No, it's not high-grade, or even mid-grade, for that matter, but this is such a key book for Golden Age collectors, and so expensive in higher grade, that it's worth your consideration. It is complete, but CGC does note, "Cover detached and completely split. Centerfold detached." This is the first unrestored copy that we have offered for auction. Overstreet 2003 GD 2.0 value = $5,200. <B>Estimate: $2,500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
