Fine. The revolver retains 40% of the bright original blue, casehardened and silver-plated finish. The metal surfaces are smooth with only scattered light handling marks. There is some very minor flash pitting on the hammer face and the front of the cylinder. The engraving is crisp and deep and the barrel and cylinder markings are clear. The grip is very fine with some scattered, minor handling marks and about 80% of the original varnish finish. This is a very good example of a popular Civil War revolver with desirable Smith & Wesson markings.
