Moore's Patent Seven-Shot Revolver, #674, .32 RF cal., 6'' octagon barrel, engraved brass frame, walnut grips. Barrel marked ''D. Moore, Patent Sept. 18, 1860''. An early popular competitor of the Smith & Wesson, privately purchased by Union soldiers and used in the Civil War. Mfg'd 1861-1863, with total quantity produced approx. 6500. Condition is good with cylinder and barrel assembly mostly burnished bright. Ejector rod is a somewhat later replacement; retaining tip is missing. Grips retain approx. 15% of original varnish with fractional shrinkage at toe and heel. Action indexes somewhat intermittently but is crisp, bore is fine. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)
