Moonlight Magic Pinup Salesman Sample (Circa 1950s)
Moonlight Magic Pinup Salesman Sample (Circa 1950s) - The success of the Pinup in the 1950's was due to careful rules of what was and was not shot, of body position, and "props". For most of the era, models had to be shot against some kind of set or background, and have some kind of props, be it jewelry or costume pieces to off set the "flesh". Even the famous Tom Kelly shot Monroe "Golden Dreams" and "New Wrinkle" photographs were shot against an eye-popping bright red background. However "Moonlight Magic" changed all that with a model who is totally naked without any "accoutrements", and against a natural background... basically showing only her naked body and nothing else. It changed the entire course of pinup's. This is an original Salesman's Sample litho of the infamous "Moonlight Magic" (#1527) by Champion Line. These samples were printed on special high quality paper to give them a extra high grade for sale. It also includes the space above the photo where a company or shop could put their name. Approx 12"x17".
