Flasks of this kind – round like the moon, hence the name ‘moonflask’ –are also known as a baoyueping or bianhu in Chinese. Their shape was inspired by Middle Eastern water flasks carried by travelers, hence they are also known as a ‘pilgrim’s flask’ in the West.



Condition: The vase is in good condition with signs of age. The height measures 30.5 cm.
