Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup trophy from the 1976-77 season, a team widely viewed as the best hockey team of all time. Trophies were given out to players and executives, with this particular trophy issued to assistant general manager Ron Caron. The 76-77 Canadiens had a staggering 60-8-12 record, and swept the Boston Bruins en route to their 20th Stanley Cup championship. Trophy's text is written in French, and displays the name ''Club De Hockey Canadiens / 1976-77'' followed by the names of the executives and all the players on the squad. Written near the bowl of the cup is the phrase ''From Stanley of Preston''. Silver trophy sits on a circular black composite base with a green felt bottom. Measures 13'' in height and 5.75'' in diameter. Some minor tarnishing to the silver, else near fine.
