Cert. #204, issued for 6 shares to Emily Gillis in 1867 and signed by the vice president and secretary Thomas Dunlap. Not cancelled. Folds, archival tap repair at center. White Pine Mining District. Located Lander County, soon to be White Pine County. Particularly crisp vignette of six miners working down in the shaft with two miners hauling up ore barrels. The certificate was issued at Philadelphia, PA., so this was an Eastern financed operation. John Alexander, Philadelphia, printer. Advertisements issued in this period put this mine in Lander County. It was not until March 2, 1869 when White Pine County was created from Lander County. So at the time this certificate was issued, it was indeed in Lander County. This mine got off the ground quickly, hit a snag and the mine and mill was back on track in 1868. The mill in January worked 135 tons of ore which produced $97,500.
