This is an exceptionally rare important piece of Montana Territorial History printed in 1866. The piece is titled, “Council Journal of the First Legislative Assembly of Montana Territory, Convened at Bannack, December 12, 1864.” The piece was printed in Virginia City, Montana by D.W. Tilton & Co. 1866. This is one of the most early and significant books ever published in Montana Territory. A much worse condition printing of this book appeared on Antiques Roadshow PBS in 2010 by Ken Sanders valuing it at minimum $10,000 and on a good day could be worth much more. This is the most pristine condition and only complete copy known to exist, as this is the only one with the original binding. The piece is a monumental work in early Montana Territory printing and is the first laws in governing of Montana Territory. Measures 5 5/8”x8 7/8”. First Edition First Publishing RARE.
