Montana Crow Fully Beaded Flat Bag c. 1950's
This is an excellent fully front beaded flat bag from the Montana Crow Native American Indians of the 1950’s. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with floral calico trade clothe inner lining which overall is completely covered on the front with tight fine beadwork along with a woven beadwork double top handle. The beadwork shows all glass trade seed beads in a floral pattern with iridescent pearl white background and flowers in pearl red, pink, yellow, pinks and a iridescent bead. The beadwork was executed exceptionally and is in very good condition. The top handle is made entirely of beadwork, a unique attribute. The bottom edge of the bag shows a fancy beaded fringe and the back of the bag shows all the bare Indian tanned hide with remnants of an old trading post tag. The bag is in good condition and measures 19”L with straps by 8 5/8”W.
