Monroe Scent Cards & Display (circa 1954)
Monroe Scent Cards & Display (circa 1954) - One of the rarest of all Marilyn Monroe collectables! In 1954 the Monroe Manufacturing Company in New Castle PA, created "Monroe Scents", with an illustration of "Monroe" seductively reclining on the hood of a car. They were basically one of the first "auto scent" cards that you hang from your rear view mirror. Each card also had a bikini clad "Marilyn" fanning the scents. The cards came in "Lilac", "Jasmine", "Basin Street" and "Rose". This is a mint condition actual store display with all four scent cards up for sale. Because they've been sealed for over 60 years, they still have a scent to them! A true one-of-a-kind bit of Monroe memorabilia! These rare cards are included in uber-Monroe expert and collector Clark Kidder's Monroe memorabilia guide books. Sealed display with stand includes 11 cards which are approx 3"x4.5", display is approx 12"x13".
