On Wednesday, May 13th, 2009, Rogallery.com will hold an auction of Modern and Contemporary Art. The public is invited to preview artworks from May 1st until May 12th at our location at 47-15 36th Street, Long Island City, New York. The Gallery is by appointment only. Bidding will take place live online at Icollector.com starting at 12pm EDT.
Featured in the sale will be works by John Biggers, David Burliuk, Corneille, Lucien Clergue, Willem DeKooning, Richard Diebenkorn, Burhan Dogançay, Tsuguharo Foujita, Robert Indiana, Alex Katz, Kiki Kogelnik, Jeff Koons, Mark Kostabi, Andre Masson, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Michael Powolny, Mel Ramos, Robert Rauschenberg, Mimmo Rotella, Mark Tobey, Victor Vasarely and Andy Warhol. 330 artworks are offered in the sale -- Paintings, Prints, Sculpture and Photography.
The highlight of the Sale is the Pablo Picasso “Fillette au Bateau” lithograph from the Marina Picasso Estate Collection (lot 277). The Oil Painting, which this lithograph is made after, was recently offered for sale in the Sotheby’s Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, May 5th in New York City (est. $16,000,000 - $24,000,000 USD).
