Modern Design

Auction Details

From a single-designer collection to carefully curated sections of designed objects,
Modern Design will include distinct items that echo current trends.

The upsurge of interest in Scandinavian design is realized in a group of works by the likes of Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjaerholm, Ole Wanscher and Frits Henningsen. A handcrafted sensibility appears in a collection of mid-century Italian ceramics that display color, texture and pattern resonant with a contemporary aesthetic. A premier selection of works by the celebrated Palm Springs designer Charles Hollis Jones has a retro yet stylish appeal with the use of overtly glamorous Lucite and chrome elements.

Vladimir Kagan, icons of American design, Hugh Newell Jacobsen, Francois Jordan, Carl Aubock, Harry Bertoia
