Model 1941 Johnson Semi-Automatic Rifle, by Cranston Arms, #B4212, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock, with original bayonet and scabbard. Recoil-operated competitor to the M1 Garand with the vast majority purchased by the Dutch and small numbers used by the USMC during WWII. Many were converted to sporters after WWII and were available for sale in the 1950's. Original examples in good condition are scarce and highly sought after by collectors. Condition is very good to near fine retaining approx. 80-90% original parkerizing thinning in spots. Original paint remains in the sight elevator increments. Stock shows light scuffs and dings, with repaired crack emanating from the rearward left portion of upper tang, as is often the case. Action is crisp, bore is excellent. Bayonet is numbered #1532 (we have never seen one that matched), with light high edgewear and some toning to blued areas. Scabbard has toned and darkened over time with no rip!
s or tears to leather thong; with some stitching losses near belt loop. Est.: $3,000-$4,000.
