Model 1911A1, .45 ACP caliber semiautomatic pistol, experimental series for US Government contract, frame marked “US&S Co Exp No36.” Slide shows logo and US Switch & Signal Company, Swissvale, PA, USA address on the left side. A die-struck brass tag from Switch & Signal, with serial number of pistol is included. The pistol is in near mint condition showing 99% plus original finish, just some minimal losses from handling and operation. Near mint overall with bright interior showing no evidence of firing. Correct blued barrel and magazine and all original parts with minty military-style grips. An important pattern or pre-production prototype Switch & Signal.
