Model 1911A1, .45 ACP caliber, semiautomatic pistol, by Remington Rand with 1st type logo, Parkerized finish, military grips, excellent to near mint, in original craft-type box with Remington label. The box contains two wax-paper wrapped and unopened magazines with original wrapping paper. The pistol shows 99% plus original parkerized finish, some minor scratches, and miniscule losses from operation. All blue still shows on the breech and barrel, with proper blue magazine. Interior shows little to no firing or use. The box is correct and shows most of the label, and has been taped with some losses and discolorations. Serial number “922140” and was one of the first hundred produced. It would be difficult to improve on this early 1911A1 contract. Pictured on page 201 in “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols, 1884-1900” by Edward “Scott” Meadows. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
