Model 1879 U.S. Trapdoor Springfield carbine, .45-70 cal., 22” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, cleaning rod and extractor in butt trap, #209799*in overall very good + condition showing a plum brown patina on barrelmixed with original blue finish, majority of the original blue on the trigger guard, traces of original case colors on “trapdoor” and receiver tang with balance gone to silvery toning, very good bore, crisp action, very good markings,saddle bar present but ring missing, very good wood stock with circle P visible and scattered old mars and scratches from carry and storage; also an old cartridge head impression on the right side of the butt stock.
