Model 1843 Hall-North breech-loading percussion carbine, .52 cal., 21” round barrel, iron mounts, wood stock. This gun is in overall fair + to good condition showing an even brown patina with scattered areas of erosion and pin prick pitting; traces of color on the breech block with maker mark and 1848 date; dark bore, good action, iron ramrod present as is the sling bar and saddle ring on the left side of the receiver; “J.H.” inspector stamp on left side of frame near the first barrel band, the wood appears to have been cleaned some time ago and possibly given a coating of linseed oil, scattered nicks, mars and scratches from carry and storage with initials carved into the right side of the butt stock and just behind the lower tang.
