Exceptional and Possibly Unused Model 1843 Hall-North Breechloading Percussion Carbine, NSNV, .52 cal. smoothbore, 21'' round barrel secured by two barrel bands, iron mountings finished in brown lacquer, case hardened breech, niter-blue breechblock lever, bright barrel band spring, double cartouched walnut stock, with buttonhead ramrod. Breechblock marked ''US/S. North/MIDLtn/Conn./1847''. Condition is excellent showing no evidence of use and retaining approx. 98% fine lacquered brown finish. Case hardened breechblock shows mild thinning and very slight spotting to top portion. Percussion nipple shows virtually no use. Bore appears mint and unfired with traces of protective grease throughout. Stock with very minor dings and scuffs from storage. Triggerguard bow shows only one very minor scuff to edge and retains virtually all of its original finish. A beautiful example of the same type Carbine that outfitted the 1st and 2nd U.S. Dragoons during the Mexican War a!
