Model 1826 flintlock single shot Navy Pistol by W.L. Evans, .54 cal., 8-5/8” barrel, wood stock, iron mountings and swivel ramrod. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showing approx. 40% original muted brown on the barrel with the balance gone to a brown patina, “C 1”; “USN” and “P” stamped on the rear left side of the barrel at the breech; lock plate shows clear “W.L. Evans, V. Forge” and the date “1831” and “USN” at the rear of the lock plate; the action is good, the bore dark and the wood is very good with just slight scattered mars from carry and storage; iron belt hood attached to left side of the stock and there appears to be a letter “M” or “N” stamped just behind the belt hook.
