Model 1817 US flintlock single shot pistol, .69 cal., 11” round barrel, bright finish, wood stock, iron mounts, swelled tip wood ramrod. This gun is in overall very good to excellent condition showing an even bright finish to all metal parts, sharp markings including the spread eagle and “US” on the lock plate and the “Springfield 1818” behind the hammer; there is also a small casting flaw in the lock plate just in front of the spread eagle marking; the top left side of the barrel at the breech also shows sharp circle P, eagle head and V proofs with 1818 dated barrel. The wood stock is very good to excellent showing scattered small nicks and mars with one old crack on the right side of the butt stock at the butt cap; two good inspector cartouches on the left side of the stock above the trigger and an “EA” stamped clearly in the metal just in front of the trigger. Expertly reconverted. Est.: $3,500-$7,000.
