.69 caliber, 41" (1" cut off) barrel. The barrel has the remnant of a V marking. The lockplate is marked with an eagle motif over U.S. and marked Springfield 1839 at the rear. Walnut stock marked with an inspector's cartouche on the left and with two on the underside behind the triggerguard. With three barrel bands, two sling swivels, a tulip headed ramrod and a U.S. marked buttplate.

Condition: The barrel, lock and hammer have a mottled grey and plum patina, with light pitting at the breech. The stock has some nicks and dings and is in good condition. The bore could use a cleaning. The action is very good.
