Model 1816 Harper's Ferry Musket Converted To Percussion
.69 caliber, 42" barrel. Barrel marked with a VP and the remnants of an eagle head, with a stamped 3 at the breech. the lock is marked C.S.A. and Harper's Ferry 1825 at the rear. The stock is marked H.C. in two places and is stamped with a floret at the top of the wrist. The left of the stock features several stamped inspectors cartouches. Several other inspector's initials are stamped behind the triggerguard. Walnut stock with three barrel bands, trumpet headed ramrod and a C.S. marked buttplate.

Condition: The barrel has a mottled grey and plum patina, with some staining and pitting near the breech. The lock and hammer also have a mottled patina with some pitting. The stock has some nicks and dings. The bore needs to be cleaned. The action is very good. The swivel on the triggerguard is broken.
