Model 1801 Non-Firing Replica Flintlock Pistol
Featured in this lot is this non-firing, replica flintlock pistol modeled after the French Napoleonic Model 1801. The original flintlock was produced by the Arsenal at St. Etienne in France. This is similar to what Lewis and Clark and their corps carried as they departed in 1803 to territories unknown. This replica flintlock features a full length wood stock and simulated brass fixtures. One side of the pistol reads, "TR Manufactures se Snt. Etienne" while the other shows a serial number "260". This is a heavy, well made replica of the popular naval style pistol, showing good condition overall with slight wear but no signs of obvious damage. It measures 13 1/2" L x 2" W x 6 3/4" H and weighs 1 pound and 12 ounces.
