Mocha Service (elements), porcelain, 15 items, 1 mocha pot w/ lid, height: 17 cm, 1 sugar tin w/ lid height: 8,5 cm, 1 ewer height: 8 cm, 6 mocha cups and saucers, 6 small dessert plates Ø 13,5 cm, waisted bodies w/ curved gilt edging, yellow, gilt, and iron red painted dragons, twisted branch handles heightened w/ gilt and w/ leaf terminals, rose branch knobs, Meissen, underglaze-blue crossed swords ca. 1970, this décor is modelled after the Japanese "Korallenroten Hofdrachen" pattern, itself based on an earlier European design; the service was produced ca. 1730 for the court of August the Strong, Prince Elector of Saxony, and its use remained the prerogative of the Dresden court until 1919, (Ru).
