Nine stocks and bonds representing a nice variety. Originally conceived in 1837, the first tracks were in use in 1852. The line suffered heavy damage during the Civil War and had to be rebuilt. 1) Early stock certificate issued in 1853. Printed on delicate blue paper. Not cancelled. 2) Stock issued in 1870, different design with train on bridge vignette. Pen cancelled. Red seal that is trimmed. Blue paper. 3) Certificate of deposit dated 1876. Locomotive vignette. Punch cancelled with glue residue along left edge. 4) Different style stock issued 1877. Punch and stamped cancelled. issued to members of the reorganization committee. 5) Yet another style stock issued in 1886. Punch cancelled. Brown border. 6) Same style as previous, but with green border. Issued in 1896. Stamp cancelled. 7) $1,000 bond for the company, now called Mobile & Ohio Car Trust. Issued in 1890. Punch cancelled. Locomotive vignette. 8) Bond issued in 1886 for $1,000. Punch cancelled. 9) Stock issued in 1899. Punch cancelled with heavy soiling and folds.
