The following is from "Who Was Who in American Art" by Peter Falk:

Born in Seattle, Washington, Louise Gilbert was a painter and etcher, who remained based in Seattle. She studied at the University of Washington with Eustace Ziegler, Leon Derbyshire, Mark Tobey, and Ambrose Patterson.

Among her exhibition venues were the Seattle Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy, the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle, and the Northwest Water Color Society. she was Director of the Frederick and Nelson Little Gallery in Seattle.
