American director (1898–1972) of such films as The Big Broadcast of 1938 and Lady in the Dark. Vintage matte-finish 10.75 x 13.5 photo of Leisen in a chair beneath a similarly posed painting of himself, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Jeanne Bair—one of the few ‘swellest’ people I know. Mitchell Leisen 1934.” Light creasing, soiling, moderate contrast of last name and some of the inscription against background, and silvering to the darker areas, otherwise fine condition.
