Lot of 2. Stock issued in 1880 and signed by Jay Gould as president. Stock issued in 1887 and signed by George J. Gould (his son) as third vice president. Both stocks punch cancelled which does affect signatures. Jay Gould (1836–1892) was an American railroad magnate and financier widely regarded as one of the most ruthless "robber barons" of the Gilded Age. He gained control of several major railroads, including the Union Pacific and the Erie Railroad, often using aggressive and controversial tactics such as stock manipulation and bribery. Despite public criticism, Gould amassed immense wealth and influence, leaving a legacy of both industrial expansion and ethical controversy in American business history.
