A misericorde is a pointed edgeless dagger used to deliver the "Coup de Grâce "or final death blow.

According to the consignor, this was purchased in Italy in the 1950s or 60s. The metal is tarnished and has not been cleaned. There is a small stamp at the base of the spike. The cross bar is loose and wiggles slightly. Origin of manufacture and date are unknown.

Overall size is 12-5/8 inches long x 3-3/8 inches. The spike is 8-¼ inches in length.
